I work as a registered nurse and shift lead/ charge nurse on an 18 bed medical-surgical floor. As a nurse on the floor, I provide the safe and quality care to 4-5 patients at a time. This includes education on medications and goals of care. As a shift lead, I manage the flow on our floor in addition to occasionally caring for 1-2 patients. I approve patients to transfer onto our floor, advocate for the staffing needs of the floor, and provide support to families and staff nurses.
