ABOUT BROOKE BARNER
I’m a triple major in Accounting, Economics, and Political Science at the University of Rhode Island, currently gaining valuable hands-on experience through an internship at my father’s (Phillip J Barner, CPA, ABV, CFF) accounting firm in Newport, RI. This role has strengthened my understanding of tax preparation and financial analysis, allowing me to apply classroom knowledge to real-world financial situations.Originally on track to graduate in May 2028, I’ve accelerated my studies and plan on graduating a year early (May 2027) with 150 credits, completing all requirements to sit for the CPA exam soon after graduation.Outside the classroom, I’m passionate about golf and was an All-State selection by the RI Coaches Association as a high school senior in 2024. I also placed 6th in the 2024 Rhode Island Junior Amateur Championship.I’m excited to continue developing my expertise in accounting and finance and to connect with professionals who share the same drive for excellence and growth.
