About Brook Taylor

An automotive executive with +20 years of experience representing the world’s top global car companies, technology leaders, fast moving start-ups and elected officials. As the Vice President of VinFast in the US, he is responsible for overseeing a US expansion that includes building a US headquarters in Los Angeles, taking the company public on the NASDAQ stock exchange and the construction of 1,800-acre EV and battery manufacturing complex in Raleigh, North Carolina. He oversees all federal, state and local government affairs in the US and Canada. Taylor also established VinFast’s first ever carbon credit trading desk and manages a global portfolio of carbon credit investments. Previously, he led product development and strategic engagement for Daimler Urban Mobility Solutions - US. He was responsible for collaborating with States and Cities to deploy new mobility platforms including mobility data products, intelligent transportation infrastructure, connected and automated vehicles and more. Taylor was responsible for launching a first-of-its-kind V2G and V2X pilot project in US which connected Mercedes-Benz vehicles to traffic infrastructure, city grids and other transportation modes to enhance dynamic traffic infrastructure. Prior to that he was responsible for Regulatory Affairs at Mercedes-Benz R&D, helping navigate the challenges associated with the company’s aggressive plan for the future, which includes four key pillars: Connected, Autonomous, Shared and Electric (CASE). He was actively engaged in federal and state policy efforts to prepare the market for electrification including advocating for more zero-emission vehicle infrastructure, increasing the availability of vehicle incentives, investing in smart cities, advocating for autonomous vehicle technology and more. Prior to joining Mercedes-Benz R&D, he was an appointee to California Governor Jerry Brown, serving as Deputy Director at the California Governor\'s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz). He has served two California Governors, previously as a Senior Policy Analyst for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.He is an industry expert on automotive technology, transportation policy, federal, state and local government, the deployment of electric vehicles, automotive safety regulations, emissions and environmental regulations, economic development, crisis communications and more. He graduated from the University of Oregon.
