   I patrol a designated area in a patrol car to observe and investigate any criminal activity or conditions that may pose a threat to public safety. Additionally, I enforce laws and maintain high visibility to ensure safety. I investigate accidents and hazardous conditions, including crimes, by interviewing witnesses and gathering physical evidence for court. I enforce both felony and misdemeanor laws in Utah and follow proper procedures when apprehending and detaining suspects. As needed, I serve warrants, summonses, subpoenas, and civil papers. I\'m available to testify in court and respond promptly to emergency calls, such as robberies, burglaries, and assaults. I check residential and commercial properties for security and assist motorists in various situations. I\'m responsible for keeping complainants and victims informed of the progress of investigations and I also investigate and report fires and related events. I maintain equipment and weapons in presentable and functional condition. When necessary, I transport mental patients and prisoners to prescribed locations and account for and transport evidence. I provide assistance to the general public and work with juveniles and adults in related matters. I\'m able to make decisions quickly in stressful situations and perform special projects as directed by the Sheriff. I watch for missing persons and lost children and administer first aid to the injured in emergency cases. I attend shift meetings, seminars, and training sessions to remain knowledgeable of operations and maintain job performance. Furthermore, I maintain a required level of proficiency in the use of firearms and driving skills to ensure safety. Lastly, I take active charge in serious or unusual situations.
