About Kayla Brock
I am a passionate political strategist, community organizer, and research professional with a focus on advancing progressive policies and increasing gender representation in political leadership. As a 2022 Magna Cum Laude graduate of The George Washington University, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with double minors in International Affairs and Journalism & Mass Communications. I am also an alumna of the Elizabeth J. Somers Women\'s Leadership Program, where I honed my leadership and communication skills. In October 2023, I concluded my role as Training and Community Engagement Coordinator and Interim Training Manager at EMILY’s List, a national organization dedicated to electing Democratic, pro-choice women to office. In this role, I was responsible for designing and implementing training programs that empowered women across the country to run for political office. I played a key role in organizing leadership development programs, providing strategic guidance, and creating resources to help candidates navigate the complexities of political campaigns. This experience strengthened my skills in training, mentorship, and strategic program management, and deepened my passion for empowering women in politics.I have also served as the North Carolina State Strategist for Relentless, a relational organizing platform for the 2024 election cycle. In this contract role, I developed and executed grassroots strategies aimed at increasing voter engagement and mobilization across North Carolina. I focused on utilizing data-driven insights to connect with voters on a personal level, ultimately helping to drive voter turnout and support progressive candidates. This position reinforced my ability to leverage technology and community networks to make a tangible impact on political campaigns.Currently, I am working as a Research & Grants Associate at The Women\'s Fund Miami-Dade, where I am using grant funding to design models for businesses to implement policies supporting early childhood education benefits. This research is focused on creating frameworks that integrate early childhood education into organizational policy, particularly around family benefits, which can improve workforce retention and support working families. This role has strengthened my research, data analysis, and policy development skills.Looking to Explore - Government & Politics, Campaigns & Elections, Community Engagement, Public Policy, Early Childhood Education, Media Production, & Political Strategy.
