Brittney Portes is an Afro-Latina urban agriculture educator, urban farmer, climate advocate, and dynamic public speaker committed to empowering communities through food justice and garden education.As the Founder of Gardens of Sol, Brittney partners with hospitals, libraries, corporate teams, and nonprofit organizations to help community members nurture the gardener within. She has taught over individuals, ranging from young children to older adults, how to grow food, regardless of space, background, or experience.Her hands-on and virtual workshops are ideal for groups engaged in sustainability, physical and mental health, and food security in urban spaces. Through each program, Brittney helps people reconnect with nature, their food, and themselves.With more than eight years of organic growing experience across the U.S. and South America, she brings deep agricultural knowledge and a passion for creating resilient, equitable food systems to every garden, classroom, and stage she steps into.Brittney is also a sought-after public speaker, sharing her story and expertise with corporate teams, universities, and public institutions.
