About Brittney Sooksengdao
I am an architect driven by design as a service to empower people through wellness, connection, and social equity. My decade of experience centers on understanding people and aligning purpose to deliver impactful projects and programming. As an advocate for building equitable design practices, at Gensler, I am the Southeast Regional Co-Lead of the Global Inclusion committees spanning 8 offices. I was the co-founder and co-editor of a publication focused on dismantling unconscious bias and I am one of the leaders behind a monthly workshop series designed to equip colleagues, clients, and partners with the tools to embed equity and inclusion into the fabric of their work. Outside of architecture, I built on my experience as a former NCAA Division I athlethe and I have been a fitness instructor teaching yoga sculpt in the Washington, DC area for over 8 years. Through my fitness community I revel in cultivating strength as a collective and leverage my platform to host donation classes for a variety of non-profit and advocacy organizations. A proud daughter of Lao refugees, I was also a first-generation college student which shapes all aspects of how I make space from design to fitness.
