ABOUT BRITTANY BAIZE

Strategy, fundraising, finance, operations, and communications leader with 20 years professional experience; non-profit and for profit executive leader, affordable housing, homelessness, social services, and education start-ups/rapid-growth systems.Brittany Baize (she/her) is a passionate advocate for shifting power and centering community voices. Her career began in the for-profit sector, anchored in her degrees in Finance from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas and in Radio-Television-Film from the Moody School of Communications at UT Austin. After working in advertising, marketing, and sales in New York City, she moved to post-Katrina New Orleans to help open a free, public charter school, Success at Thurgood Marshall that is still increasing student achievement and sending students to premiere high schools and selective colleges today. She then raised millions of dollars in philanthropy to help YES Prep Public Schools in Houston, Texas expand to serve students and partner with traditional school districts to improve opportunities for youth. After a brief stint back in the private sector in education technology, Brittany returned to the non-profit sector to lead Family Eldercare, a social services and affordable housing non-profit based in Austin, Texas. She has since led strategic growth, fundraising and communications for the organization to help it grow from $4 million to $21 million+ in annual revenue over the last five years, including imbedding diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives into Family Eldercare’s culture and communications. Her efforts have led Family Eldercare to secure critical start-up funding for LGBTQIA2S+ older adult initiatives and built the multi-million dollar capital stack for two new permanent supportive housing developments for older adults exiting homelessness. She also Chairs the Austin Housing Coalition, leading the organization’s strategic direction, facilitating the focus of the community’s policy priorities, and increasing the decision—making and advocacy power of residents of affordable housing.
