About Brittany G. Morgan

My long term career north star has been to eliminate poverty and create wealth for as many working class families as quickly as possible, especially communities of color.Over a decade and a half, this mission has led me to a variety of community economic development experiences in Chicago and Miami, including 6 years addressing food insecurity through food banking, 4 years supporting first generation community college students to succeed, and for the past 5 years, designing flexible capital for business owners and nonprofit leaders to increase asset ownership and reduce the racial wealth gap, including property acquisition. My areas of expertise include designing and managing large, highly technical projects and programs; budget and financial management, especially through a philanthropic lens; leading communication, dissemination and research translation efforts; and authentically deepening community relationships.Born and raised in Miami, I am of Cuban descent and bilingual. I moved to Chicago in 2008 to attend the University of Chicago, then worked over a decade in the local nonprofit sector, earning a master’s in public policy at UChicago Harris in 2020. After 14 years away, I happily relocated back to the 305 to be closer to family and friends.Outside of my day job, I enjoy cooking, reading, yoga, volunteering, gardening, and spending time with my golden retriever Lola.
