Programming Languages & Runtimes: Python (Cinder)- Contributor to Cinder runtime which is a fork of cPython that has been optimized for Instagram. During my time on this team, I’ve focused on Cinder’s support for a concept called Static Python which is a Python compiler that leverages type information to rewrite the Python bytecode in a more efficient manner, find type errors, and improve stability - Leader in a company-wide effort to upgrade the Cinder runtime to be compatible with Python 3.10. This project required collaboration of over a dozen engineers across multiple departments.
