About Brittany Pope

Brittany R. Randall-Pope is currently an Assistant VP and the Executive Leader & Research Fellow at The Institute of Family and Community Impact (IFCI), a center of excellence for research, clinical innovation and training, and advocacy within OhioGuidestone, a community mental health and social services organization. With over 15 years of experience in urban settings, she leads and facilitates applied science and research operations, fund development, elevating innovation, bolstering equity and justice centered practices, and collaborating with various stakeholders across disciplines and sectors.Brittany is completing a PhD in Urban Education, with a focus on Adult, Higher, and Continuing Education, and is passionate about leveraging theory, research, and personal narratives to improve life for marginalized communities, especially through policy and practice changes. She is an expert in early childhood and family health, informed by neurobiology, interpersonal psychology, and social determinants of health frameworks. She has co-created and validated several evidence-based practices for early childhood and parenting health, and advocates for racial and rural justice, parenting equity, and multicultural competency in healthcare and education. She is driven by a mission to empower families and communities to thrive and flourish.

Indelible reputation for exceeding strategic plan initiatives year-over-year, including: dissemination of outcomes and impact publications, fund development, local-state-national expansion and collaboration, fostering collaboration and innovation, and captivating engagement of stakeholders. Continuation of director-level key responsibilities and performance.Success Snapshot• Created four new cross-regional evidence-based and advocacy liaison groups to expand access to innovations and best practices, and elevate inclusive collaboration of practitioners and stakeholders across diverse Ohio regions• Collaborative advocacy with local, state and national partners for enhanced mental health workforce, access for early childhood mental health prevention and treatment, and advancement in perinatal health screening and treatment for parents• Authored and established evidence-base of “Father’s Feelings Program”- a brief clinical screening, coaching, and warm hand-off program for perinatal fathers• Creation of critical participatory action research program to identify role of fathers in reducing Black maternal and infant mortality/morbidity crises, connection between mental health and childhood protective factors, • Co-authored a novel maternal depression protocol for Black perinatal women in urban settings to mitigate maternal morbidity & mortality and early childhood adverse experiences crises• Public policy influencing for biennial budget season: Cleveland news segment on importance of early childcare and education, pediatric health podcast on importance of integrated mental and physical health, need for enhanced mental health workforce pipeline and educational expense support
