About Brittany Franklin

Born & raised on a rice and crawfish farm in Abbeville, LA my passion to end childhood cancer began when visiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at age 16 as a volunteer.In 2007, during my senior year at ULL, we hosted a sporting clay fundraiser that raised net profit to benefit St. Jude and The Ronald McDonald House, Memphis. Placing my plan to apply to law school aside, in 2008, we officially launched Sky High for Kids (formally Sky High for St. Jude’s) as a 501c3 nonprofit organization and I simultaneously started my career in operations and corporate sales in the energy industry. Sky High’s mission is to bring the community together to provide comfort, fund research and save lives of those fighting pediatric cancer and other life-threatening conditions. We primarily fundraise by hosting over (9) annual memorable fundraising events across Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma and we are currently in a $40M capital campaign in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospitals Advanced Research Center and Texas Children’s Cancer Center Immunotherapy Center & Global Hope in Sub-Saharan Africa. https://skyhighforkids.org/donate/After working in the oil & gas industry for nearly 14 years, I left my for-profit corporate career to follow my dreams of ending childhood cancer. I currently sit as CEO & Founder of Sky High and reside in Houston with my daughter Stevie James, two dogs, Tank & Duke.
