ABOUT BRITNEY DOSSETT

Britney is a Senior Software Engineer at Bloomberg. Britney has now completed the trifecta of working in large, mid, and small companies, and has learned about the strengths/weaknesses of how all three operate. In Britney\'s previous roles, she has spanned various technologies and teams. She was a part of an Emerging Technologies team, where she worked on IoT devices such as Amazon Alexa and Google Home. Then, she transitioned to a team that created the most popular experience at CNN Digital, the LiveStory/ live blog page. On this team, Britney went through Lean agile training, where she was a part of the highest functioning team at CNN Digital. Her transition to Europe happened because the tech team in London asked her to move to their team after working with her on a project. So, she became a part of the foundations team at CNN, which created the shared component library for CNN. She was chosen to be tech lead on 3 different occasions, one of which was elected by her peers. During Britney\'s time as an engineer, she has also had many opportunities outside of engineering. She was a board member of the Ladies in Tech at Warner Media group. The group played a vital role in hiring, retaining, and empowering women in Warner Media. It also played a vital role in the community, by hosting events such as a summer immersive program with Girls Who Code for high-school age girls. Britney was also a speaker at two JavaScript tech conferences, where she lead 4-hour workshops teaching people how to build an Alexa app. Lastly, she was also chosen to participate in Google\'s Women Developer Academy, which was a 4 week intensive course in leadership, empowerment, and community.
