My mindset has always been to look at every strange or unfamiliar experience as a learning experience. Whether that is in the form of submitting a mutant bioethics/Battlestar Galactica podcast final, taking a class where I learned how to start fires using nine ancient techniques, or even attending a Day of Dialogue in which I knew nobody in any session I attended, I never shy away from an opportunity to learn more about myself and the world around me. Without these experiences and my wonderful mentors and preceptors that I have met along the way, I would never have seen the convergence of skill and compassion that I now see and currently use in my everyday actions as a pharmacy student.
