I Chair the Human Resources Law and Compliance Counseling Group at Genova Burns. I counsel employes on all issues relating to the employment life-cycle, conduct independent investigations of internal concerns, and run employment law/anti-harassment trainings. My practice includes advising employers on:*disciplining and terminating employees (including those employees who encounter performance or misconduct issues after receiving disability-related leaves and accommodations)*counseling employers on requests for accommodatins under the ADA and state disability laws and leaves under the FMLA *conducting workplace investigations *complying with New Jersey state and federal employment laws (including discrimination/retaliation/wage and hour/background check issues)*drafting policies for employee handbooks *training human resources/supervisors/employees on employment compliance issues *drafting/reviewing non-compete agreements *implementing reductions in force. On behalf of employers, I also handle responses to demand letters and administrative charges/complaints before the New Jersey Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights, and the Office of Federal Contractor Compliance. I began my career litigating employment cases on behalf of employers, but my focus is on counseling. A little bit more about me: I am admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I sit on the SHRM Board - Jersey City/Gateway Chapter. I speak frequently on new areas of law. I love working with my clients and enjoy solving complicated issues.
