ABOUT BRIER A. RIGBY DAMES
I am a multidisciplinary researcher with over 8 years’ experience across academic, clinical, and industry settings. I recently passed my PhD viva at the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Accountable, Responsible and Transparent AI (ART-AI), University of Bath. My PhD focused on brain ageing and Alzheimer\'s disease, integrating psychology, neuroscience, bioinformatics and data analysis.My research spans transcriptomics, comparative biology, and data integration, with experience in drug profiling, machine learning, and systematic reviews. I’ve led and supported ethics-approved projects and cross-sector collaborations involving academic, clinical, and commercial teams.Additionally, I am an experienced educator, having taught and supervised undergraduate and postgraduate students in psychology and computer science. Also, I’m a certified Scrum Master and have coordinated randomised controlled trials. I bring practical skills in R, Python, SPSS, Excel, Jira, Confluence, and regulatory documentation. I have a strong interest in BioTech, MedTech, HealthTech, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance and education.
