Implement the Department of State\'s Data and AI strategies by building a culture at the State Department that is curious about and embraces AI and data- Increase data and AI literacy through customized trainings, outreach programs and events, inter-agency projects, and novel ways of instituting creative communication venues- Organize in-person events such as a Conversation with the Secretary, Data Days, foreign Embassy visits, Senate Foreign Relations Committee briefings, overseas Embassy visits, regional workshop participation, and agency-to-agency learning opportunities- Developed first Generative AI internal training to the Department including communications plan and speaker recruitment- Creating storytelling videos to highlight the real humans using AI tools within the Department- Designed and hosted Department\'s first internal AI podcast, Data RenAIssance- Established Department level awards for data and AI and expanded nominations- Deliver training and presentations for StateChat, the Department\'s enterprise AI chatbot

ABOUT BRIDGET RODDY
I do many things, only some of which appear on this page. Right now, I\'m leading the talented Culture, Outreach & Training Team at the State Department\'s Center for Analytics. We are cultivating and creating a culture that is both enthusiastic and curious about applying analytics, data, and AI to the work of the U.S. Department of State. Previously, I was the Digital Director and web design lead in the Public Affairs and Strategic Communications office in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Let\'s go back a few years. I started the US government\'s federal-wide virtual internship program way back in 2009. I build ways to introduce UX, humanity-centered design, design thinking, storytelling, agile,(you can probably name a few more) in to the work of government. For my entire life growing up as a Third Culture Kid, I build new connections between people and ideas. Moving countries every three years builds resilience, curiosity, a sense of adventure, and diverse perspectives. I love to re-imagine experiences and empower individuals (and teams) to make positive change by figuring out the best way ahead, together.
