Everyone talks about culture, but not everyone knows why it’s important. Or, how to create a good one. Most people ask “What is culture? Why is it important? How do I know if the company join has a good one? For the last 19 years, I’ve spent my time researching, studying and applying the answers to these fundamental questions. In my role as the Senior Director of Human Resources at Venterra, I am responsible for constantly evolving our talent strategy to attract, retain and develop amazing people while creating a thriving work environment where everyone can succeed. Together we’ve created a Fortune 100 Best Place to Work for the last 5 years, a 4.6 rating on Glassdoor and a workplace that team members rave about! As a 3 on the Enneagram (aka \"Achiever\"), I love a good goal. This comes in handy when partnering with the business to achieve their goals. Sounds like HR speak, right? What I really mean is, it\'s my job to understand what the company\'s goals are, and then work with our team to achieve them! When I’m not thinking about improving our award-winning culture and achieving our goals, I love spending time designing spaces that are beautiful and functional in my own home. Home matters more now than ever before. Talent Acquisition: Developed and implemented strategies to attract top talent, ensure quality selection, an active talent pool for future openings and deliver a positive candidate experience. Performance Management: Implemented performance management program to include goal setting, ongoing feedback, mid and year end “check-ins”. Organizational Planning: Designed and developed HR team structure to meet aggressive company growth goals.
