Bridget Karlin is the senior vice president, Information Technology, Services & Operations, driving digital transformation at Kaiser Permanente, a $100 billion healthcare business. In her role at one of the largest integrated healthcare institutions in the world, with more than physicians and nurses to provide care to 12.6 million members, Karlin is responsible for the digital transformation of the information technology, services and operations that power Kaiser Permanente’s business. She is redefining how services are delivered to patients, members, employees, and partners, by leveraging and integrating AI, automation, security, cloud, and open-source technologies to enhance care delivery, strengthen cyber security, ensure compliance, and for modernizing offerings and capabilities across applications and infrastructure environments for a more compelling healthcare experience. Prior to Kaiser, Bridget was the Global Chief Technology Officer of IBM’s $20 billion Global Technology Services business, responsible for enterprise clients’ IT Infrastructure, delivering digital transformation across the industry’s largest IT services estate of more than servers supporting millions of endpoints from the edge to the cloud, with a global team of distinguished engineers and data scientists. Notably, she developed IBM\'s Cloud Automation Community Framework and the AI-based IBM Services Platform. Karlin also served as IBM\'s General Manager of financial services\' top custodial bank client, opening new markets including cryptocurrency and delivering 156% profitable growth. Before joining IBM, Karlin held executive leadership roles at Intel Corporation, as General Manager of the Internet of Things division, and prior to that, as General Manager of Intel’s Hybrid Cloud business. Additionally, she has served in executive positions at Union Bank, managing director at Redleaf Venture Capital, and was president and co-founder of Thinque Systems, a pioneer in mobile software deployed in 43 countries. Karlin serves on the board of Dana Inc.(NYSE: DAN), a Fortune 500 world leader in automotive manufacturing, on the board of LyondellBasell (NYSE: LYB), a global petrochemical manufacturer and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Karlin is the recipient of the 2023 ISG Digital Innovator Award, 2021 Technology Hall of Fame, the 2019 National Technology Humanitarian Award, the 2019 Women in Consumer Technology Legacy Award, the Industrial IoT 5G Innovators Award, the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award, and the Bell Labs Technology Innovator Award.
