Server Install• We are pre-staging rails for some of the devices. If the rails you have are already installed place the wrapped rails off to the side in one of the designated bins.• Servers will be wheeled in on dollies or carts and staged in a central area of the DC• Carts will be wheeled over to the area designated on the asset tag and reinstalled to the designated rack and RU.• Servers will be handled by two people at all times and for overhead installs will use 3 and if needed a stepstool/ladder.• Operation continues until all servers are moved and re-racked.• No cables are to be connected to the installed servers.• Please report any damage to servers or rails immediately to CSG Leadership. Deinstall Servers• For deinstall there will be two techs in the front of the rack and one in the rear.• The team in the front will ensure the device is powered down, if the device is still powered on please seek out one of the CSG leadership team to verify we are are ok to manually power off the server.• One person in front will pull the server a couple inches out while the person in the rear verifies they see the correct server moving.• After identification of the correct server you can begin unplugging power and fiber cables. Copper (CAT) cables will be cut about 3 inches from the jack on the server.o NOTE: THERE MAY BE LIVE SERVERS IN THE SAME RACK SO BE SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT SERVER• Techs will deinstall devices from assigned racks.• Servers are removed stacked on provided carts or dollies for transport to the loading area – do not stack more than 5 1U devices high• Rails are to be deinstalled with servers, wrapped securely at both ends with celephane, plastic wrap, and labled with asset # from the label on the front of the device.• All cables are to remain in the rack.
