ABOUT BRIA RENEE SMITH
I’m a magna cum laude graduate of Temple Law, a former Editor-in-Chief of Temple Law Review, and a soon-to-be federal judicial clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Currently, I’m an associate at Alston & Bird in Atlanta, where I focus on executive compensation and employee benefits. My practice spans high-stakes M&A diligence, regulatory compliance, and public and private company compensation arrangements. But I’m more than my billable hours. I lead with empathy, mentor with intention, and show up fully—whether I’m helping a veteran navigate a discharge upgrade, having a coffee chat with a first-gen law student, or winning the firm’s Relatability Challenge. Before law, I was a special education teacher and director. Those experiences shape how I advocate, collaborate, and communicate. I believe in clarity, compassion, and community—whether I’m drafting a red flags report for a deal or crocheting amigurumi toys for my many play nieces and nephews. Let’s connect if you’re passionate about ERISA, or just want to swap half-marathon stories.
