About Briant Fernandez
I am a second-year Aerospace Engineering student at UC Irvine with a strong interest in advancing space exploration technologies for future human missions. As a first-generation Hispanic student from a low-income community, I am deeply motivated to leverage my experiences to broaden access to STEM and give back to the communities that shaped me.My technical background includes computer-aided design and research and development, with hands-on experience in satellite systems, nanomaterials research, and the design and fabrication of a 3D-printed combat robot. I thrive in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments where complex problems demand creative and analytical solutions.Beyond engineering, I am passionate about mentorship and community engagement, and I actively work to support and uplift students from underrepresented backgrounds. I am always seeking opportunities to grow, contribute meaningfully to ambitious engineering efforts, and connect with others who share a commitment to space exploration and social impact.
