Jan 2021 — Present
Developed a new online learning business as well as a series of BIPOC Centered design history courses facilitated by Polymode. Launched in January of 2021 as live and pre-recorded lectures, readings, and discussions that shed light on the seemingly perpetual moments of oppression and invisibility within the design cannon. The on-going series revisits and rewrites the course of design history in a way that centers previously marginalized designers, cultural figures—and particularly Indigenous, Black, and People of Color (IBPOC) and Queer, Trans, People of Color (QTPOC). As of the Fall of 2023, the online platform has recorded and held 32 classes, enrolling 850+ students and its collective library is licensed by 30 higher learning institutions, both private and public. The next scheduled course syllabus I am curating and leading is (re)Creating Turtle Island: Indigenous / Native American Design Through Remembered History.
