About Brian P. Hinote
I am an experienced higher education leader with demonstrated success implementing, leading, and leveraging multiple high-profile Academic Affairs initiatives, several of which have earned national recognition for their scope and impact. I currently provide extensive data and decision support across key strategic areas and oversee all matters pertaining to MTSU faculty, including tenure and promotion; professional development; academic integrity; recruitment and orientation; awards and recognition; policy development and implementation; standing committees; student grievances; and various other academic initiatives. I also serve as the principal internal and external point of contact for multiple Academic Affairs data systems; provide strategic leadership to MTSU Online and the Learning, Teaching & Instructional Technology Center (LT & ITC); and collaborate directly with Office of Institutional Equity & Compliance, Disability & Access Center, and other campus partners on faculty matters. As an experienced partner and collaborator across all levels of the institution, I regularly support the Provost, vice provosts, college deans, department chairs, faculty, and other campus colleagues. As an accomplished interdisciplinary scholar, mentor, and leader, I am a nationally recognized expert in higher education data analytics and an author and speaker across various domains of Academic Affairs, including student success, education technology, change leadership, enrollment management, and best practices in data analytics. I am one of 12 leaders nationally to serve on the Data and Analytics Innovation Council and have presented to audiences at AASCU, EDUCAUSE, NACUBO, NASPA, NOSS, EAB, and many others, in addition to scholarly talks in the United States and abroad. I am an alumnus of Vanderbilt University’s Peabody Institute in Higher Education Management, and the Harvard University Institutes for Higher Education (MDP). I\'ve trained with principals at Kotter International in change leadership methodologies, and I\'m a graduate of the EDUCAUSE/CLIR Leading Change Institute. I also earned my advanced SI specialist certification at the International Center for Supplemental Instruction at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
