As the Human Resources Generalist at Sofina Foods, I support a diverse and dynamic workforce, including both unionized hourly employees and operations leadership. My role is rooted in creating strong relationships on the plant floor and delivering HR solutions that are practical, people-centered, and aligned with business goals.A large part of my focus is providing day-to-day guidance on employee relations, interpreting the collective agreement, and supporting the grievance process when needed. I lead or assist with workplace investigations, ensuring fairness, discretion, and consistency throughout. I also work closely with supervisors to coach them on employee management strategies and offer guidance on everything from attendance concerns to return-to-work planning.Maintaining a strong presence across shifts is important to me—I believe that visibility, open communication, and trust are key to supporting both employee well-being and operational success. I help coordinate training sessions, employee engagement activities, and serve as a go-to resource for benefit and payroll-related questions.Additionally, I ensure that HR records and reporting are accurate and timely through our HRIS systems, and I assist in recruitment, onboarding, and tracking of key performance indicators at the site level.
