ABOUT BRIANNE DE MAN

I believe community-rooted work should be bold, strategic, and grounded in dignity.That belief has shaped every role I’ve taken on: from frontline work to program leadership, and from partnership development to systems change strategy. I bring over a decade of experience in the non-profit sector, with a focus on building initiatives that respond to complex social challenges with both care and creativity. Specifically, my experience has centered on community economic development and social enterprise, with a splash of zero-waste and environmentalism woven in.Most recently, I served as Director of Eastside Works, a low-barrier employment initiative in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. There, I led a small but mighty team, collaborated with government and community partners, and guided the program through a major strategic review.I’m particularly skilled at-> Developing and scaling programs grounded in community needs-> Building strong cross-sector partnerships, including with municipal and provincial government-> Navigating teams through uncertainty with steadiness and vision-> Creating operational processes that are collaborative, efficient, and mission-drivenI’ve raised over $2M in diversified funding, led multi-stakeholder initiatives, and supported teams through both growth and transition.
