ABOUT BRIANNA GLOSSNER

My work seems to challenge the inherent idea of the contrasting relationship between perception and reality primarily exacerbated by reflection. There are strong dualities in the idea of reflection, such as, unique vs. universal, perception vs. reality, and honesty vs. truth. Reflection requires honesty to evaluate ourselves and the world we created. My projects reveal a pattern of questioning how spaces are interpreted and the reflection that takes place within and how humans interact with the built environment. My work values architectural lines, shapes, and functionality. I strive for my projects to promote different experiences no matter where you stand, this allows for individual experiences and meanings. I have always strived for excellence and obtaining my goals. As I have learned and grown in college, I have noticed that learning forces reflection in order to succeed. I have succeeded in everything I have ever taken on, even through getting knocked down and the sleepless nights. I have come to realize that without reflecting on my decisions and actions my designs and self would have not improved. Mistakes are bound to happen, but reflection is the key to learning and I strive for my project to convey thoughtfulness and ideas that are always improving. Design is about learning from others and taking that information and applying it to something that is useful to you. Design is a place where you can apply information from 10 years ago and it is still relevant. Design makes those who study it resilient. Design has made me of all these things and more. Design will continue to form me as I continue to form it.
