CYBR 445/545 Principles and Practices of Cybersecurity ~ As an Adjunct Lecturer for CYBR 445/545, I guided students in developing a comprehensive understanding of core cybersecurity principles, including the CIA triad, Access Controls, Zero Trust, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, and the Sliding Scale of Cybersecurity. I taught students how to apply these principles through frameworks, standards, and best practices, while also addressing the common vulnerabilities and exploits that pose threats to systems.The course offered a unique perspective for students approaching cybersecurity from a policy or management standpoint, helping them understand the complex interactions between social, technical, policy, and management factors in shaping secure cyber infrastructure. For technically proficient students, the class also provided insights into the management, policy, and political dimensions of the cybersecurity field, preparing them for real-world scenarios and enhancing their understanding of both technical and strategic elements of cybersecurity.
