ABOUT BRIAN MENGES

Brian has been in the Canadian mortgage industry since 1991, first as a partner with Fidelity Edmonton Management Ltd. and then in 1997 as an owner and co-founder of Caplink Financial Corporation (\"Caplink\"). He has extensive experience in residential and commercial mortgage origination and administration, and is responsible for Caplink’s new mortgage product development, capital markets, securities regulation, and investor relations.Related to his work with Caplink, Brian is the President, Director and Shareholder of the mortgage investment corporations Cedar II Mortgage Corporation and Caplink Mortgage Investors Corporation, as well as a member of their finance and credit committees. In addition to his mortgage industry activities, Brian is also active in real estate. He has extensive experience in residential and commercial real estate acquisition and management. In 2020, Brian expanded Caplink into the United States mortgage banking industry with Caplink Mortgage Corporation (\"CMC\"). CMC is currently licensed as a residential mortgage lender/servicer in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Texas, and Washington, and as a mortgage broker in Pennsylvania. CMC is also able to provide commercial mortgage financing in 36 states. In Canada, Brian is licensed as Real Estate Broker (AB), Mortgage Broker (AB, BC, SK, MB, ON), Exempt Market Dealer (AB, BC, SK, MB), Restricted Portfolio Manager and Investment Fund Manager (AB, BC). In the US, Brian is licensed as Mortgage Loan Originator in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Montana, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington.Brian\'s professional affiliations include founding member of the Canadian Alternative Mortgage Lenders Association (formerly the Private Lenders Forum), past member of the Alberta Securities Commission Exempt Market Dealers Advisory Committee, advisor to the Mortgage Broker Regulators Council of Canada, past member of the Real Estate Council of Alberta\'s Mortgage Broker Advisory Committee, and past President and Director of the Alberta Mortgage Broker\'s Association. In addition, he is currently a member of the Edmonton Executive Association, the Economic Society of Northern Alberta, a mentor with the University of Alberta Threshold Impact Venture Mentoring Service, and the American Association of Private Mortgage Lenders.
