Engaged in the VIPER project, focusing on the exploration of the Moon’s extreme environments to discover ice and other in-situ resources. • Working with the VIPER and AMRDS drill bit systems, conducting data analysis on drilling performance in lunar simulants• Utilized Python for generating detailed graphical representations and various data files to advance understanding of lunar drilling mechanics.• Address and solve deployment challenges related to the integration and construction of extraterrestrial structures, facilitating future lunar exploration and habitation efforts.• Addressed and resolved deployment challenges associated with the integration and construction of extraterrestrial structures, contributing to the advancement of future lunar exploration and habitation initiatives.• Assisted in determining the mechanical properties of lunar simulants derived from a PhD dissertation, as well as those of terrestrial rocks. Conducted analyses to identify the specific percussive energy of the TRIDENT drill on lunar simulants and developed a graph illustrating the correlation between Specific Percussive Energy and the Unconfined Compressive Strength of the simulants.• Took the initiative to learn about active projects in Dr. Lynn Rothschild’s lab, where I connected with researchers and gained insight into the potential of mycotecture as a foundational material for lunar construction. During my visit, I observed the integration of fungal materials with substrates and lunar/Martian simulants and engaged in discussions about their applications for extraterrestrial habitats.• Gained insights into the ARMADAS project and facilitated connections with a research group at Stanford to explore potential collaboration opportunities.
