Brian G. Hughes is currently a Principal Field Solution Architect Security with CDW.Prior to starting with CDW, Brian was a Senior Consultant with Prosys IS in Brentwood TN. Providing presales engineering support to account executives covering the South Central region. Brian\'s current concentration is on Cisco technologies in the LAN, WAN, Security, Wireless, and Data Center switching.Previously a Solutions Architect with Verizon Enterprise Solutions in a long term assignment with Nissan USA at the North Americas headquarters in Franklin TN.As the Network Security Engineer at the City of Memphis, Light Gas and Water Division, MLGW, Brian was responsible for ensuring efficient flow of traffic into and out of the network while also ensuring that the 2700+ users and various systems are protected. These systems included highly secure and regulated networks that protect our city’s and region’s utility infrastructure.Prior to the city of Memphis Brian was a Senior Network Engineer with Presidio Networked Solutions, specializing on enterprise scale deployments of secure wireless LAN technologies throughout the United States. Also, the design and implementation of secure wired network communications, the achievement of which is done primarily with Cisco Systems\' routing and switching hardware. In addition to holding a Master of Science degree in Information Security and Assurance from Western Governors University and Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Memphis Brian is also a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) as certified by the industry standards setting body - Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) as well as holding several Cisco professional level certifications (CCNP-Wireless, CCNA-Wireless, CCNA, and CCDA) as well as multiple professional level certifications from various IT vendors and vendor neutral organization.
