ABOUT BRIAN FOJTIK

I have served in policy, communications, political and government relations positions across the country, including working for a US Senator, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, State Senator and State Representative. I worked as Director of Government Relations with a major consumer products company from 19••••09 in a contentious and highly-regulated industry. Most recently, I served three years as Director of External Relations at NJOY Inc, where a significant portion of my work involves playing a leadership role in the building of an efficient and effective government relations apparatus for a dynamic company in a targeted and emerging technology industry. Most recently, I have resumed work with my boutique communications firm with a focus on government relations, messaging/writing and media placement, grassroots, education, lobbying and advocacy. My experience in political, governmental and private sector positions leaves me well-suited to develop and implement strategic public and government relations and issue-oriented campaigns. Additionally, I have created and managed million dollar budgets; and identified, recruited, hired, managed (and sometimes fired) contract lobbyists, public relations firms, grassroots firms and have extensive experience building coalitions and working with third party legislative, policy and political organizations. Specialties: Government relations, communications and message development, public policy, grassroots and grass-tops communication, new/social media consulting/management, budget and personnel management, issue management, strategic planning, and coalition building. I received my B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and my J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago.
