About Brian Daniel

Welcome to my profile! I am a collaborative and passionate professional who has had opportunities to advocate for social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within higher education for the past 10+ years working with students, faculty, and staff. As a higher educational practitioner, I have worked to support college students through a variety of functional areas, such as: residence life, first year experience, academic advising, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and collegiate athletics. I currently serve as the Assistant Dean of Students at UNC-Greensboro, where I oversee the Bias Education & Support resource, and provide case management for the Behavioral Assessment Team. I facilitate outreach and education to the campus community by providing anti-bias training opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. I completed by Ed.D. degree in Higher Education Administration at the University of West Georgia in 2024. My research focused on exploring the awareness and perceptions among LGBTQIA+ students about their institution\'s bias incident reporting process at small colleges in the South. In my spare time, I serve as the head boys basketball coach at Western Guilford Middle School.

   Serve as the head coach of the boys basketball team. Oversee the day-to-day logistics, such as: plan and implement practices, coach and manage games, review game film, mentor student athletes, collaborate with school faculty and administrators to ensure student success, and promote academic accountability and balance between athletics and classroom success.
