Our Centre provides trauma-informed support to children and youth who have experienced abuse, neglect, or exposure to violence. We work closely with law enforcement, child protection services, therapists, and community partners to ensure young people receive the care and support they need at the most critical time in their lives.Key Achievements:• Led the successful implementation of the Child Victim Witness (CVW) Program in Niagara, expanding access to court support and advocacy for children involved in the justice system.• Spearheaded the creation and expansion of Camp Acorn, Niagara’s first and only trauma-informed summer day camp, removing barriers to participation through no-cost options.• Launched new therapeutic partnerships with Victim Services Niagara, Design for a New Tomorrow, and Family and Children’s Services Niagara to support children impacted by gender-based violence and human trafficking.• Secured major multi-year funding from the Ministry of the Attorney General, Justice Canada, and private foundations to support counselling, education, and outreach programs.• Guided the Centre through strategic planning, staffing growth, governance renewal, and new branding efforts to prepare for the next phase of impact and service delivery.Core Responsibilities:• Oversee all operational, financial, and strategic functions of the organization• Foster community and government partnerships to enhance service delivery and advocacy• Lead staff development, recruitment, and performance management• Drive donor engagement, fundraising strategy, and stewardship• Ensure the Centre remains a trusted, child-first space rooted in trauma-informed best practicesAt the heart of this work is a simple goal: to help children heal and thrive. Our Centre provides a safe, welcoming environment where young people can share their stories, access trauma-informed support, and begin the path to healing.With nearly 30 years in the charitable sector, I’ve devoted my career to creating opportunities for vulnerable children and youth to thrive. Throughout my journey, I’ve built strong partnerships across the community, developed high-impact programs, and led strategic initiatives that improve access to mental health and social services for young people.I believe in the power of collaboration, equity, and empathy in leadership.
