WORK HISTORY
Editorial Director, Synthesis Media (Editor Laboratory News, Laboratory Talk, Process Engineering) @Synthesis Media Ltd
My role is to maintain and develop existing product and provide thought leadership, while contributing to the creation and implementation of an digital/online-first strategy and development of content creation services.Direct responsibilities include editorial supervision, creation and commissioning for both Synthesis Media\'s engineering and science streams, encompassing several ne titles, three websites and a variety of social media platforms. Sectors covered account for some of the highest value industries in the UK, including Pharma & Bio, Food & Beverage, Oil & Gas, Water and Chemicals – areas that are key beneficiaries for STEM investment and workforce development and heavily impacted by both Brexit and Industry 4.0.I have implemented faster turnarounds and higher volumes of content online to achieve greater impact and prevent production bottlenecks. I transformed Process Engineering’s content for its 2023 transformation to a fully digital format, with greater focus on a C-suite audience and closer alignment with its sister title. And I significantly increased social media activity with more targeted editorial content and promotion of Synthesis Media products and services. Within the process stream this boosted Twitter followership 81% and grew LinkedIn followership from just 453 to 24k.Content creation responsibilities include contract publishing on behalf of process sector clients; repurposing product to improve editorial and production values and develop a recognisable house style, then maintaining a consistent approach and schedule.I have also devised and run a social media micro campaign for Synthesis on behalf of one of the key international companies in the process industries, personally creating the strategy and assets and scheduling activity within just four days. Additionally, I have run projects for a key software company in the food and drink sector developing case studies, press releases and media.
