As a Research Coordinator, I support community-engaged research focused on advancing equity in cancer genomics and improving access to genetic services. I work on the CATERS study (Community-Centered Approach to Enhance Cancer Genetic Referral Strategies), a multi-site project designed to increase referral and uptake of genetic counseling and testing among racially and ethnically diverse populations. My responsibilities include managing study logistics, supporting participant recruitment and retention, coordinating qualitative data collection, and helping develop culturally tailored communication and education tools.I also lead coordination of the Participant Engagement Advisory Board (PEAB), a national board of patients, caregivers, and advocates who provide critical input throughout the research process. I facilitate board meetings, manage ongoing communication with members, and ensure that their insights shape all phases of the study—from design to dissemination.This role allows me to integrate my background in biomedical science with my passion for health equity, community partnership, and inclusive research.
