Cost of CapitalMs. Adams has conducted analysis and written testimony on cost of capital issues in approximately 20 regulatory proceedings before regulatory commissions in Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Utah, and Virginia. Ms. Adams develops cost of equity analyses based on market conditions, using multiple analytical approaches, including constant growth and multi-stage discounted cashflow (“DCF”) models, the capital asset pricing model (“CAPM”), and other risk premium methodologies. She frequently serves as project manager, developing testimony, responding to data requests, coordinating analysts, and identifying client- and jurisdiction-specific analyses and testimony.ValuationMs. Adams has provided valuation services to utility clients and private equity clients for various purposes, including regulatory proceedings, utility asset appraisals, M&A due diligence, and municipalization feasibility studies on behalf of investor-owned utilities.Grid ModernizationMs. Adams has extensive experience working in the U.S. Northeast on grid modernization and platform technology strategy, developing biannual Distribution System Implementation Plans for New York utilities over the past seven years, advising utilities in New York on a broad set of grid modernization issues, and developing a platform technology roadmap in Connecticut.
