ABOUT BRIAN STOBIE

I manage Durham County Council\'s award winning international programme; involving large numbers of pupils and their teachers in educational projects. The work of my team is regarded as an example of best practice across the UK and beyond. I was delighted to be awarded the title of Chevalier dans l\'ordre des palmes academiques by the French government for work in promoting the French language and culture. I managed the Europe Direct Service for North East England and am an accredited expert for the European Union\'s education programme Erasmus+ and formerly Comenius, Lingua and the Lifelong Learning Programme. I act as an Ambassador for British Council international learning programmes and am an Associate of the Global Learning Association. At Durham university, I support students as a college mentor and am a member of the College Advisory Board at Ustinov College.
