ABOUT BRIAN STJOHN
Brian St. John leads the Global Fraud & Authentication Consulting Practice for Pindrop as Senior Director. Brian’s team of Consultants find approaches and blaze new paths to achieve maximum benefit of Pindrop’s products and services solutions. Pindrop offers solutions for anti-fraud and authentication in the call center environment, by detecting the fraud and removing as much friction as possible from the call center experience.Brian cut his teeth of his anti-fraud and authentication career at Bank of America in 1997, working on fraud chargebacks for their credit card line of business. During his tenure he helped the bank combat credit card and deposit fraud along with being on the front line during the first data breach mass compromise fraud attacks. American Express, a global leader in managing some of the lowest fraud losses in the industry while receiving international recognition for cardholder satisfaction, recruited Brian to provide leadership and expertise for their website anti-fraud and authentication processes. During his tenure, Brian’s role expanded to include membership rewards and call center responsibilities. Brian’s diverse and significant experience identifying and mitigating Fraud within the financial industry led to Pindrop recruiting him to lead the fraud team in 2017. During his time with Pindrop, Brian’s role has expanded to becoming the Global Leader for Pindrop’s Fraud and Authentication Consulting Practice During his career in the fraud prevention world, Brian has watched fraudsters move from the physical world to the virtual world, using every tool available to level up their ability to gain access to assets. Becoming an avid observer of emerging technology, being known as an “early adopter” of consumer technology in his personal life, gives Brian insight into how new technology will create exploit opportunities as well as becoming an educator about fraudster behavior has kept Brian enthusiastically engaged in stopping fraud.Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and an MBA, both from Northern Arizona University. Brian proudly supports the ACFE community and holds Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential. His passions include mentoring new industry professionals, building a sustainable and diverse Consultant culture for Pindrop, exploring new tools that may aid in stopping fraud, and running Dungeon & Dragon campaigns.
