About Brian Stacy
Brian Stacy is serving as a senior economist in the People Chief Economist Office (formerly known as the Human Development Chief Economist Office) of the World Bank. The Office of the People Chief Economist conducts a strong analytical program on human capital accumulation and advises the Vice President for People. Brian\'s main roles are to work on the Human Capital Index (HCI), flagship reports related to human development, and a minimum data package for children, adolescents, and youth.Previously, Brian served as a data scientist with the Indicators and Data Services team at the World Bank’s Development Data Group. He was co-lead of the Statistical Performance Indicators and a contributor to the Atlas of the Sustainable Development Goals as well as the World Development Indicators. He helped lead data work on the Global Education Policy Dashboard project and has worked on the Learning Poverty project in the Education Global Practice. His main research interests include the study of measurement and data gaps, education, labor markets, nutrition, and poverty.Brian received his Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University with a focus on the economics of education, labor economics, and applied econometrics.
