Elected to represent the constituents of Lisnasharragh, one of 10 District Electoral Areas (DEA) in Belfast with an eligible electorate of 21,488 - Attend monthly Council, Committee, Working Groups and Partnership meetings and play an important part in the Council’s decision-making process by ensuring that it has clear direction, accountability and achieves its objectives - Work alongside other cross-party elected members and the Council’s Corporate Management Team and wider stakeholder organisations to develop and enable the strategic vision for Belfast - Play a key role in shaping the Resilience Strategy for Belfast as Chair of the Climate Working Group- Uphold the Northern Ireland Local Government Code of Conduct and ensure that under the Local Government Act 2014, that the Council arrangements in place to secure continuous improvement in the exercise of its functions; and that it observes the outlined approach to Performance Planning and Management Process (Corporate Plan / Community & Key Strategic Plan – The Belfast Agenda / Local Development Plan / Belfast Economic Strategy 2022 – 2030 / Inclusive Growth Strategy / Social Value Procurement / Resilience Strategy / Recovery Plan / A Bolder Vision for Belfast)- Play a governance, consultative and political role as part of the Council’s Belfast Region City Deal (BRCD) partnership arrangement developed by 6 partner Councils which will benefit Belfast significantly from the opportunities presented i.e. Innovation & Digital Capabilities, Tourism & Regeneration, Infrastructure and Employability & Skills
