Recognizing these issues, Brian encourages decentralized stormwater management practices (e.g, enhanced infiltration, green streets, local run-off capture/reuse) as a supplement to the more traditional, centralized stormwater management practices (e.g, storm drains, concrete channels, regional basins). Decentralized stormwater management can replicate a more natural drainage solution by collecting, storing, and cleaning run-off through a system of dispersed, interconnected, small-scale treatments.
