   In 30 years as a practicing architect, Brian has worked to create livable, sustainable communities while carefully balancing the sound economic needs of each project. Since founding the firm in 1998, Brian has led the design of award-winning projects throughout the West Coast and the firm has become nationally recognized for designing some of the most energy efficient mixed-use projects in the U.S. His firm has received a total of 50 Pacific Coast Builders Conference Gold Nugget Awards, which recognize architectural design and planning excellence around the world. His advocacy for appropriate urban housing for all is evident in the firm’s body of work.Additional accolades include nine NAIOP Night of the Stars Awards, four National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Awards, and two U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED Homes Awards. In 2021, Brian was named Designer of the Year through the Puget Sound Business Journal’s Commercial Real Estate Leadership Awards, and the firm was recognized in 2019 and 2020 as one of Washington State’s Most Equitable Workplaces. Outside of the office Brian is currently the Co-Chair of Urban Land Institute NW\'s (ULI) Multifamily Product Council and on the Board of Directors for the Swedish Cultural Center and The Rex Theater Foundation. Previously, he has served on the Queen Anne Community Council land use review committee, and the Low-Income Housing Institute (LIHI) fundraising committee. He is an active and founding member of the Seattle and Bellevue 2030 Districts, a public- private collaboration with the mission to reduce environmental impact within the built environment.
