I build large, reliable systems that connect application logic, infrastructure, and observability—always with a focus on scalability, automation, and clarity.I began in enterprise Java, designing J2EE systems with Servlets, EJBs, JMS, and CORBA. Later I moved into Ruby on Rails, deploying with Passenger and Unicorn, managing Rack middleware, and migrating several Rails applications to Django as I expanded into Python for back-end frameworks and automation.As the web evolved, I adopted Node.js and Express for microservices and built early front ends with jQuery, Backbone.js, and AngularJS—then modernized into React and TypeScript. I also built WordPress and Movable Type plugins in PHP, using PEAR for package management and integrating React into legacy sites.My messaging background in JMS led naturally to Kafka and RabbitMQ. I returned to Java with Spring Boot, Dropwizard, and Maven pipelines for SaaS microservices, and expanded into NoSQL with MongoDB and JSON-based APIs.I developed a deep background in observability and security: architected ELK clusters for incident analysis and BI dashboards, then replaced them with Splunk clusters—one for developer observability, another for security-only audit ingestion. I built SIEM pipelines and a PCI-DSS-compliant payment gateway bubble isolated from core cloud networks.I’ve also led infrastructure automation using Packer, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, and Terraform across AWS and Oracle Cloud.
