Brian Morgenstern is the Senior Vice President of Public Policy at Riot Platforms, Inc, one of the world’s leading bitcoin-driven digital infrastructure companies (NASDAQ: RIOT).He is a board member of the Texas Blockchain Council and the Bitcoin Voter Project, and he sits on the executive committee of the Digital Chamber.Brian is an industry leader on public policy advancements regarding digital assets, artificial intelligence, energy, tax, trade, financial services & national security.He is an attorney, former White House deputy press secretary and deputy communications director, and former deputy assistant secretary of the Treasury.He is also a co-author of Vignettes & Vino, a book of short stories from the White House with recipes and cocktails.Since 2021, he has been co-owner of Win the Future Strategies, LLC, a boutique public affairs firm in Washington, DC.In 2020, Brian served as White House deputy press secretary, deputy communications director, & special assistant to President Donald J. Trump. He traveled with and advised the president and other senior officials during the global pandemic, financial crisis, presidential election, severe civil unrest, and a Supreme Court confirmation.Prior to the White House, he was deputy assistant secretary of the Treasury and chief speechwriter to Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin. Brian led regulatory rollouts for the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act and the Foreign Investment Risk Review Modernization Act (FIRRMA) to improve the review process for the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).Prior to Treasury in 2017, Brian practiced law in New York, handling civil litigation, appellate briefing and arguments, and criminal and regulatory investigations. Earlier in his career, he served on the staffs of Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen and the House Committee on Natural Resources.Brian is licensed to practice law in the states of New York and Texas, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He also held and is eligible for a TS/SCI security clearance.He graduated from Georgetown University and Columbia Law School.
