Conduct undergraduate lectures in Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, Introduction to Sociology, Methods of Social Research and Development of Social Theory to 4-year in a diverse school community. Incorporate recent trends into the subject matter to better connect the relevance of the material to the students’ lives. Encourage students to use new media techniques for homework and written assignments. Incorporate new media like YouTube, blogs and Flickr into lesson plans to bring first-person accounts of cultural activities and beliefs into the classroom. Utilize teaching aids like PowerPoint and academic software such as Angel, Blackboard, Canvas and TurnItIn. Work closely with special needs students to ensure any necessary accommodations are met. Monitor student progress and issue status updates as needed to help students address any problems they may be having with the course. Provide feedback, advice and recommendations to students seeking information about advancing to 4-year institutions and graduate programs.
