About Brian McKenna
CannonDesign’s Healthcare Practice Leader and Principal Brian McKenna knows the architectural design process from start to finish. A former construction administrator, he is well-versed in many types of building construction, with a particular expertise in healthcare. In the last eight years, Brian has completed several projects for Newton-Wellesley Hospital (totaling sf) that have earned him three Partners in Excellence Awards from the Partners organization. Notable projects include the Vernon Cancer Center at Newton-Wellesley, Slotnick Inpatient Pavilion, and the Blum Emergency Department. Along with the on campus development he has completed several outpatient/off campus projects such as Outpatient Surgery Center, Wellesley and the Ambulatory Care Center at Wells Ave. He recently lead an extensive addition/renovation sf) for the US Department of Veterans\' Affairs. Clients appreciate Brian’s approachable style and team orientation. He holds a Massachusetts Hospital Association Certificate in Lean in Healthcare and has participated in several mapping sessions and lean 2P/3P events.
