Recent experience includes:Fintech and Payments- advising various tech cos, e-money issuers and PSPs on the regulation of payments e.g. safeguarding and e-money programme management- advising fintech platforms and banks on agreements to enable savings products to be sold via the platforms- advising a unicorn fintech on the rewrite of its terms; insurance distribution; and Brexit planning; and- advising a Crypto exchange on its terms and advising on the regulatory treatment of ICOs.Funds and Asset Management- advising asset managers on fund (CIS) structuring and marketing, and the application of the AIFMD- advising asset managers and placement agents on Brexit planning- advising an asset management team of a major bank on the application of the MiFID2 inducements rules to third party payments and the interaction with its booking centre model- advising on retail marketing of AIFs including PRIIPS, and financial promotion/FCA rules; and- advising asset managers on the application of the MiFID2 rules on fees transparency and the findings of the FCA\'s Asset Management Market Study.Banking and Investment Firms- assisting various authorised firms, including a major market infrastructure provider, on the implementation of SMCR- advising Category 3 banks on the application of the EMIR clearing obligation and the MiFIR trading obligation, and how they might seek to avoid application- advising various FS entities (incl. UK, U.S. and EU banks) in connection with their Brexit planning and transfers of business from (and into) the UK- advising a major bank on the MiFID2 regulatory perimeter for FX trading and available exemptions- advising firms on client money issues, governance restructures; spread-betting restrictions; and Model B execution and clearing arrangements; and- advising banks on the drafting of operational continuity clauses for their supplier agreements; the issuance of new capital; customer transfers; and outsourcing agreements.
