Directing the provision of patient care services and providing administrative leadership for pharmacy services across the MaineHealth system. The Chief Pharmacy Officer co-chairs, advises and assists the central P&T Committee of MaineHealth in the development and implementation of policies that promote unparalleled medication quality and safety. Responsible for guiding compliance with regulations of licensing authorities, regulatory and accreditation agencies at all hospital and outpatient departments. Works with the MaineHealth ACO to manage the overall pharmacy spend and inform their contract negotiations with respect to pharmaceutical spending. Serves as the primary pharmacy liaison with local boards and senior leadership to generate buy-in and approval for establishing the pharmacy enterprise. Cooperates with the medical staff to ensure optimal therapeutic drug utilization in all patients throughout the continuum of care.
