A strategic trial attorney with a distinguished record in and out of the courtroom, Brian Lansing brings an elite blend of litigation expertise and legal leadership to every challenge. Throughout his career, Brian has litigated or managed over 400 complex civil and criminal cases at the trial and appellate levels, representing individuals, corporations, and government entities. He has also conducted and managed over 50 internal investigations for corporate clients.While a partner at LeClairRyan, Brian provided strategic outside general counseling services, and representation in over 20 complex civil disputes. Previously, as an associate at ArentFox, Brian litigated over 30 civil and white-collar criminal cases before trial and appellate courts.Brian also managed over 100 cases collectively as in-house counsel for W. R. Grace & Co. and Altria Group, working side-by-side with his outside counsel to secure favorable outcomes for his corporate clients. He also served in key compliance and business counseling roles at both companies.Brian began his career in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps, where he served in numerous roles as prosecutor, civil litigation counsel, and appellate counsel, in over 250 civil and criminal cases. He later served as a military trial judge and presided over 25 courts-martial. Brian also held senior leadership roles as commanding officer, executive officer, department head, military justice pillar lead, and NCIS staff judge advocate. After 30 years combined active and reserve service, Brian retired from the Navy in 2022 at the rank of Captain.Brian has been recognized for his exceptional legal acumen, leadership, and service by the United States Navy, the American Bar Association, the Boy Scouts of America, and Virginia Business.
